Mission

Life after Loss was founded and established in October 2019 to normalize the uncomfortable conversations related to death and grief.

Grief is complex and has various layers to it, yet many have tried to make it fit into a rigid, unrealistic, cookie-cutter category that dehumanizes our experience.

The standard of a “normal” grief experience, if there were ever such a thing, follows an outdated, Westernized ideology.

Research tries to define and set expectations for the grief experience under one lens, one perspective, one ideology, and one culture, which is not inclusive of all people.

Life after Loss is fighting to end the stigma of what society thinks grief “should” look like.

There are limited information and resources that focus on the experience and process of the grief of individuals.

Life after Loss is here to focus on the process and help provide a safe space for individuals to experience their grief in the manner that comes naturally for them, without judgment or unrealistic standards.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is only YOUR way.
